Since 1995, Hickory Dickory Decks has been building a portion of our projects in non-wood low-maintenance decking. We have completed over 800 projects and this figure is growing weekly.
Low-maintenance decking is made up of composite material (half plastic/ half wood); vinyl or EZ deck (a Fiberglass deck material). The most popular benefit of these products is no staining. A cedar deck has yearly costs and work in keeping it protected and looking good. Most of the low-maintenance materials will pay for themselves in less that 5 years of maintenance costs.
Some of the added benefits are:

- no warping
- no slivers
- less slippery than wood

- retains less heat
